Assisting Formerly Incarcerated People and Others Experiencing Barriers to Employment: How they impact your business, the community, and the individual

We are hosting a panel discussion on employer engagement of people that have been involved with the justice system, related programs and their positive impacts.

Leading the discussion is Quintin Williams, Field Building Project Manager, Melissa Young, Director of Heartland Alliance's National Initiatives on Poverty & Economic Opportunity. They will moderate a panel including a range of stakeholders and an employers who have experience working with individuals involved in the justice system.

Individuals with records face a host of barriers when returning to their respective communities. Obtaining employment for them is one of the most difficult obstacles to overcome. Employment is a key to successful reentry and public safety. Businesses have a crucial role to play in this process. One way businesses have participated is through offering transitional jobs programming.
